Gas Galore CC
EST. 1985
The iconic Gas Galore store, founded in 1985 in the heart of Halt Road, Elsies River, is a black-owned gas retailer, furniture manufacturer, importer and wholesaler established during the turbulent apartheid years.
Many in the Northern Suburbs know the store as a landmark. From providing gas to selling nails to tradesman or furniture to newly-weds, or just an "Oom" stopping by for good conversation, it was the familial nature of Mr Mahmood Parker and his staff that earned it the loyalty of customers and the support of the community over the many decades.
The store was founded with the vision of providing good quality products and services at affordable prices to everyone who entered its well-worn doors. Gas Galore was more than just about buying and selling. It was about making sure families had a community store they could rely on for good advice and fair prices - especially if you were just starting out in life.
It has further developed a reputation for its expert gas knowledge and unique custom-made furniture.
Over the years it has provided employment opportunities to many and managed to retain these positions for over two decades.Gas Galore endeavours to continue the legacy of its founder, the late Mahmood Parker who established the brand as a trusted partner in every family's life. Young and old knew that Gas Galore cared about their wellbeing and that a satisfied customer was far more important to Mr Parker than a quick sale.
Gas Galore is about ordinary people. Our people. And it's about their success in life.
Gas. Furniture. Hardware. Family..That’s Gas Galore!
